 One of the biggest records on Circus gets another round of remixes as The Green Velvet’s ‘Bigger Than Prince’ track gets three new mixes…
Yousef’s Circus Recordings has been releasing dancefloor focused music since 2009. Flashing back to the summer of 2013, Circus released Green Velvet’s thundering anthem ‘Bigger than Prince’ featuring remixes from The Martinez Brothers and Hot Since 82. Played on dancefloors the world over, this release is still held in high regard by the likes of Carl Cox, Steve Lawler and Sven Väth and constituted one of Circus Recording’s great early successes.
Fast-forwarding to the present, Circus now unveil a brand-new package of three remixes. Welcoming industry titans, Darius Syrossian and Jamie Jones to team up on a rework, along with We Are The Brave label head Alan Fitzpatrick and rising talent, Siege, this body of work presents ‘Bigger than Prince’ in a new realm.
Introducing a world debut collaboration remix from Hot Creations label boss and founder of the Paradise event series, Jamie Jones and DO NOT SLEEP brand owner Darius Syrossian. The pair play heavy on the hypnotising vocals of Green Velvet, encompassing all characteristics of classic big-room techno with a killer signature hook.
Stepping up with a stripped back and rousing rework is Alan Fitzpatrick. As his profile continues to warp, he has transitioned rapidly from underground to main stages, attracting attention from BBC Radio 1, Mixmag and Resident Advisor. His remix brings further big room references, pushing the vocal sample forward, accentuating the original with simplistic yet effective dark techno components.
Never failing to shy away from up and coming talent, Circus invite Siege to take up the final remix slot. The Belgian DJ and producer’s unique take on house has drawn attention from record labels Toolroom Records and Toolroom Trax alongside Circus Recordings. His recreation is another thunderous remix, sure to tear up dancefloors across the globe.
