Weirdo / Darren Round 'Recoverworld Residnets EP 2 - Live Edition' A. Evil Eye / B. sets Me Free Recover 027 - Released 29 September 03
Recoverworld is already home to K90, arguably the UK's most in demand trance and hard dance PA in 2003, and now we bring on board two more wizards of the live performance - Tinrib legend Weirdo and new kid on the block Darren Round. Weirdo's 'Evil Eye' is another fine example of his hard trance musical magic, while on the flip side, Darren Round serves early notice that he intends to give the likes of K90, Lab4 and Weirdo a run for their money in the months ahead with 'Sets Me Free'. We've seen the boy wonder perform his tracks live, and trust us, we mean LIVE! Both tracks have already been road-tested extensively in their live PA sets in recent weeks, and 'Evil Eye' has already been shortlisted for both the Sundissential and Resonate 4 compilations on Nukleuz and Tidy Trax.
Simon Eve & DMF A. Insomniac / B. Tribalism Recharge 018 - released 29 September 03
Simon Eve & DMF re-unite their partership to show two sides to their versatile studio talents with this latest release on Recharge. 'Insomniac' is a no nonsense slab of firin' hard house that's already kicking up a storm in Simon's DJ sets and for tastemakers Paul Glazby and Justin Bourne, with the fitting vocal sample about the effects of insomnia is something every clubber can relate to! Already given a massive thumbs up by Mixmag "a real foot-to-the-floor stomper…. pure hard house for the head bopper massive." (Sep 03). 'Tribalism' meanwhile, is a cool tech trance groover with hypnotic tribal vocals on the flip side, and is sure to open up a new audience to their studio productions, with DJ Mag guest reviewer Nick Rafferty saying in Issue 345 "an excellent alternative and really useful to get that mood early in the night!"
John Askew 'Skylab' A. Kyau vs Albert Remix / B. Original Discover 06 - Released 22 September 03
John Askew's star continues to rise as we move into the latter part of 2003. On top of his new radio show on London's Kiss FM and a DJ set at Creamfields last weekend comes his latest studio production on Discover, 'Skylab'. Backed by a remix from German producers Kyau vs Albert from the Euphonic label, 'Skylab' has already found it's way into the playlists of Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk from the 2 CD-Rs we let out of the office, so it looks like this latest Discover release will be another firm favourite amongst the trance elite. ID-J Magazine are already convinced, saying "This is his third on Discover and it’s a belter 5/5" (Danny Slade).
Wavestorm A. Recover Theme / B. Cyber Boy Recover 028 - Released - Late October early November 03
Wavestorm is perhaps better known as Pablo Gargano, co-founder of Eve Records Group and producer extraordinaire, releasing under various guises, and remixing everybody from Riva to Armin van Buuren in recent years. His Wavestorm productions are an outlet for his harder trance sounds that have become a familiar fixture on the Recover label, remixing K90 and DJ Snowman in recent releases. The 'Recover Theme' track has been Pablo's signature tune at the Recoverworld events in London for many months now, while 'Cyber Boy' was recently given it's club debut during his set at the 3,500 sell-out Antiworld Tribal City event at SE1 in London.
Mark Gray A. Show You / B. Show You (Equinox Mix) Recharge 019 - relased late October / Early November Sundissential and Insomniacz resident DJ Mark Gray has already stamped his authority on the production scene with high profile releases on the Sundissential and Vicious Circle labels. Recharge were delighted to secure his services for several singles, with the first, 'Why Am I?' gracing Lisa Lashes' Extreme Euphoria 2 and Tidy Trax's Insomnia 4 compilation albums, making it one of the hard dance anthems of 2003 so far. He now looks set to emulate that feat with the superb follow-up 'Show You' that again features a stand out vocal and devastating riffs, while Equinox from the Tranzmit label steps up for remix duties to provide a storming remake that is already tearing up the dancefloors for tastemakers Paul Glazby, Andy Farley and Simon Eve off CD-R.
.. In the pipeline Also coming up later in the autumn we have Pablo Gargano's debut solo project on Discover, the return of hard house don Defective Audio on Recharge, and further productions from Simon Eve, John Askew and Weirdo. Rumour has it that the Recharge label will enter the fray in the London club scene later in the year too... www.recoverworld.com"
