Nov. 8 Internationally renowned Roger Sanchez plays on Nov. 8. With countless remixes, productions and releases to his name, Sanchez deserves his reputation as one of the most hard-working and skilled DJs/Producers in the world. He was nominated for a Grammy award in 1999 and with the work of his pioneering New York label Strictly Rhythm Records, Sanchez established a trademark House sound of dense, syncopated basslines with simple vocal melodies. One of the hottest remixers in the 1990s, Sanchez worked on singles with artists Juliet Roberts, M People, Brand New Heavies and Michael Jackson. He formed One Records with Eddie Colon in 1992, which became known for its groundbreaking releases. In 1994, he formed Narcotic Records and the label’s reputation for quality included work by Junior Sanchez and the Rhythm Masters. In the late 1990s, Sanchez had 3 remixes on the Top 30 Billboard charts and his touring schedule remains very busy with regular slots at UK superclubs Ministry of Sound and Cream. As a solo producer, he released “First Contact” in 2001 and was voted #9 in the UK’s DJ magazine’s Top 100 DJs in the World. The Two Masters of the Decks come to Montreal with surprises in there record bags and thoughts of creating a party to remember.
