As one half of Aachen-based trance duo The Junkfood Junkies, Jens Kindervater has had a hand in producing some European club hits. Here he brings us a new solo effort for Germany's E-Cutz label.
This one-sided white label is the sixth release this year for German label E-Cutz, who carry artists such as Cosmic Gate and hard-dance producers Armani & Ghost. This is Jens' first solo effort and his first release on the E-Cutz imprint.
Kindervater - Ftp://013.07.974 E-Cutz EC 2004-06
Beginning with a lone dash of synth and a series of drum clap hits, this track slowly builds until the square-sounding bassline drops in. The track continues to build from there, slowly adding more synth, before having the bassline phase into a riff. This effect is then repeated, as the track momentarily comes to a halt under a series of subtle piano hits, ushered in by some sound effects. This is shortly followed by the main hook, which gradually builds under the framework of the bassline and the piano notes. When it finally unravels it gives a nice uplifting effect, before fading away and rebuilding as the drums return.
Conclusion:
All in all its a fairly standard track, with very little in the way of progressive elements. However, it is very well produced and is a nice piece of uplifting trance with a bit of a harder edge. An excellent first solo effort, and we look forward to hearing more from this man.
