Dark Noize Blue, a new German Trance label, presents Solid Haze's Collusion / Thruster on a double A side. So, what to expect on this new label? Well..read on to find out!
Solid Haze is Koen Mistrate Haarhuis, who also participates in projects like Cygnific (with Dutch youngster Aerodrome) and Oradea (with Freek Geuze, better known as Frisky Warlock).
Now, about the record:
A: Collusion
The A-side of the record is called Collusion, a typical tech-trancer. Now, I have already named the biggest weakness of this tune: it's very typical. But that doesn't take away from the fact that this tune is still of good quality. The tune builds up quite nicely with upcoming short synths that will go over to the typical (yes, there it is) shortly stabbed synth sound with a nice deep bassline and a hard kick that we hear in many (more commercial) tech-trance records at the moment. So okay, we heard this before... but the energy is still high and that's the goal of most of this kind of record. Collusion will do well on the dancefloor and that's always a very important aspect.
B: Thruster
Then the B side. Thruster is more of a hard trancer... and a very nice one. A dark bassline, a pumping kick and a short repeating melodyline that turns out to be kind of addictive. Yes, Thruster has got quality and will rock the dancefloors with no doubt. The combination of hard trance with a touch of the softer trance sounds works very well and gives the record something which is pretty much 'non-typical'... definitely a good thing there!
Conclusion:
These two tunes are really meant for the dancefloors and they will succeed there, that's clear. Thruster is my favourite of the 2, but Collusion is surely not bad at all. Quality double A-sider here of Solid Haze, a name to watch.
