Superstrings is the latest release from London based digital Label 23 East Deep and is by a house producer who goes by the name of Epic Funk. Get your groove on.
Here's a little house record that pop into my inbox a wee or so ago I had not come across before. 23 East Deep are a digital label based down in London and here is one of their latest offerings from a artist called Epic Funk. That’s all I know about them so onto the track.
The title gives you a hint of what you can find inside this record. Good news for those who like the vocal splash in similar sounding house records is there are none to be found in here, its all music. The record has what you could say is a typical house beat with builds in elements as the seconds roll on. The first string comes in which is a guitar tipped riff that plays along to background noise changes that swirl around and change in the distance. Those sounds get more prominent and it all goes relaxed when the beat cuts and only the guitar riff and backing sounds remain. A short section and what I would say the main groove in the track comes in with the bass. Its a deep funky riff hidden in the back of the track that just sounds good to the ear. The strings that play along with it are upbeat and fresh sounding. The beat cuts in the main section of the record and a short melody plays, which is in the same change as the groove, nicely fed in and then fed out as the groove comes back with the beat to get the track going.
On first play this record sounded good to me. It's got a very catchy groove and upbeat string sections with relaxed backing note changes. Not one to play for you hard house fans but a record to slip on when you want something groovy and relaxed to calm things down for a moment.
