Celebrating the release of their 2006 albums Frankie Knuckles declared the Shapeshifters to be the leading lights of dance music’s new breed. Knuckles who had The Shapeshifters remix dubs for his upcoming album first invited Simon Marlin and Max Reich to play with him at the Def Mix / Pacha Ibiza party last summer. The combination of the two artist / dj’s made such an impact, that they decided to do it again this year for WMC 06.
Frankie Knuckles “DubJ’s D’Light (a remixed reality)” album will release on his new imprint Noice! Music in May. The album includes dubs and remixes of past Knuckles work from Shapeshifters, Blaze, Quentin Harris, Groove Junkies and a special appearance by Jamie Principle & Nikki Richards. Knuckles own re-record with co producer / writer Eric Kupper of the classic “Whistle Song Revisited” along with “Gimme Gimme Disco Shimmy” is planed as the first double A single set for Download in April and on limited vinyl. The Shapeshifters (AKA SHAPE UK) debut album "Sound Advice" releases March '06 on POSITIVA/ EMI. With No.1 and Top 10 singles already under their belts, the new single “Incredible” is set to repeat their success, The Shapeshifters have forged a musical path beyond many of their contemporaries; with their debut artist album, ‘Sound Advice’; they’ll firmly dispel the myth that dance bands can’t write songs. It’s a 12 track, career-defining work, with a depth of song-writing and further exploration of musical styles that far exceeds their earlier promise, and could very well make 2006 their year. Shapeshifters Matt Learmouth
