Dirty Bendis - Let Me Take You/Saturday [Morrison Recordings]

Here we have a delicious little 2 track EP from Croatian producer Dirty Bendis. It has been doing the rounds with all the usual progressive jocks, but is it worth a spot in YOUR set list?!?! READ ON FOR THE ANSWER!!!

“Let Me Take You” has a really cool, subdued intro with some lazy synths and distant percussion. This quickly gives way to a dancey 4/4 beat and some crazy, unexpected piano chords amidst more percussion and a sweeping, filtered synth. This infectious combination persists until the 2 minute mark when a very retro, jazzy piano takes center stage. Once the beat kicks back in, the piano is used to build the next 2 or so minutes of the track while more eerie, sweeping synths are mixed in the background, providing a nice harmony. The second break has a spacey, trancey feel to it until some electro-ish synths are mixed in, which when combined with the bouncy 4/4 beat and distinctive piano make “Let Me Take You” a hybrid of jazzy old school house, modern electro house, and progressive trance. Overall, a fantastic piece that never stops innovating and doesn’t let up until the last 30 seconds! Highly recommended!

“Saturday” has a less experimental, more mainstream feel than “Let Me Take You.” The track is centered around a crisp 4/4 beat, plenty of dope percussion, and some progressive melodic elements. Some trancy synths are mixed in at the 1 minute mark, meaning that “Let Me Take You” wastes no time building into something special, much like “Let Me Take You.” Some brief piano chord stabs take the track into the next phrase quite nicely. The second break is almost identical to the first except for some filtered percussion that should give the low end subwoofers of any club or home stereo a nice workout. As the filter is slowly opened, a harmony and an infectious, highly danceable melody come in just in time for the beat to drop. From here, the various aforementioned elements are mixed in and out in a sensible way that makes “Saturday” a great tune that will definitely get the crowd moving!

Conclusion:
Overall a terrific EP from this Crotian artist that deserves all the attention it has been receiving from the top progressive jocks. Pick this up STAT!
