One of 2006's last decent album releases was the first part in Solarstone's Anthology series. Spread over 2 discs, get yourself into some of their greatest tunes and remixes...

It's been 10 years since their debut release, and now Solarstone have compiled a 2 disc album of their greatest works and remixes, entitled 'AnthologyOne'. Everything here is massive - from start to finish on each CD there's just back to back classic defining moments and they're all courtesy of Solarstone.
They've made clubbers across the world move in unison and generated intense hype around many of their productions. They've moved the following big names and inspired quotes such as: "Solarstone never disappoint, they always come up with warm, beautiful and just amazing music." - Tiesto "Their high level of production is still a standard for today." - Armin van Buuren "Solarstone have helped define the genre - Gods of uplifting trance." - Above & Beyond "Undoubtedly one of the finest & most consistent production teams from the last decade." - Matt Darey
The album itself is split into 2 parts. The first disc is a kind of 'home listening' selection of unmixed tracks from across Solarstone's wide ranging spectrum of dance music genres. The second disc is a seamlessly blended mix of simply amazing club tunes from the past decade. Highlights of the first CD include the legendary 'Solarcoaster', 'Release', 'speak In Sympathy', the world-renowned 'Seven Cities', 'Jump The Next Train' and the more recent 'Like A Waterfall' (it's hard to not just list them all!). Defining moments of the second CD has to include the Club Mix of 'Like A Waterfall', the First State Mix of 'Eastern Sea'. 'Red Line Highway', the Midway Mix of 'Solarcoaster', '3rd Earth' and 'Naked Angel'.
And if all that wasn't enough, parts Two and Three of the Anthology series will be coming this way in during 2007.

Conclusion:
Overall, this album is basically sitting on the throne of perfection as far as melodic, uplifting trance goes. Every track here is worth singing about, there are some truly great works here and a shedload of genre-defining classics. Aside from the sheer quality of production and the beauty of the music, the second CD is mixed into one of the most engrossing blends of trance I've ever heard.
If you don't have this already, then you simply cannot miss out on it. It's one of THE albums to have from 2006. Incredible.
