The sequel to one of last years finest compilations will break cover at the end of this month and its a very welcome one. John OO Fleming has put together another volume of Psy Trance Euphoria...
John OO Fleming is one of those producers surprised me with the direction he has gone with his music. Years ago he seemed to be doing what every other Trance DJ was with the sound but over the years its shifted to what it has become today. He is no stranger to the 'Euphoria' brand as he released two of their finest compilations to date with the excellent 'White Label Euphoria' releases a few years ago. The first came out at a time where Trance was not at its best and before the explosion of digital media which has marked white labels and exclusives not as exclusive as they once was.
Last year saw him return to the brand with a three disc compilation pushing out the best in Psy Trance and Progressive. It's Trance, but not as you may know it and it was a compilation created a few more John OO Fleming fans around the globe. John's live sets with his OO.db moniker are something really special to listen two as he plays by using just two laptops. Last years release brought the Psy style sound out into the mainstream as it’s a style that has a certain underground image and maybe one that is not fully understood by those not exposed to it. That is set to change as he's back with some more and it’s looking just as pounding as the previous release. It may be on the Ministry of Sound label, who have released some right crap in the last few months but it is another respective addition to the 'Euphoria' brand which has been one of the longest running compilation brands with its first volume being released ten years ago.
The second volume will still feature three discs but each one looks to have a slightly different flavour to it. The first looks to be a progressive affair with moody sounds being built up as the mix goes on. The second disc goes a little bit deeper into the sound than the first with the third disc being a full on music explosion showcasing John's current taste and what the 'Psy' style has to offer.
