He's one of the nicest characters on the electronic music circuit and if you have ever seen him behind the turntables one of the craziest. Woody Van Eyden is also a very talented producer, both in solo form and his collaboration work with long time friend Alex M.O.R.P.H. who has littered the Trance circuit with classic anthems like 'Turn It On', Heavenly and B.O.B. The follow to his last release is already finished and out this month, no doubt popping into the play lists of the big names radio shows in the forthcoming weeks before Santa comes. He also has a little update on his radio show he co-hosts with Alex M.O.R.P.H. for you guys to in his December newsletter..

In The Studio: The Follow Up To ‘B.O.B.’ Soon Set To Drop!

In its final stages of preparation, the follow-up to ‘B.O.B.’ - Woody’s last floor-carnivore - is about to come roaring out of the studio. From there it’ll hit a hard right and make straight for as many clubs, arena and festivals as it can reach! Described by the man himself as “133 bpm, but a big-room peak-time, bodies in da air kind of thing”, it is set to start dropping science thru Spinnin’ in December. Keep an eye out for the next Woody van Eyden newscast, where we’ll have to audio/video preview business for you to check!

Hot or Not? New Kit – The Akai APC40 Ableton Controller

“This month I’ve been putting Akai’s new Ableton controller through its paces. Considering how long Ableton as a program has been around, it’s quite strange that it’s taken the amount of time it has to get really top quality controllers out to match it! This is a lovely piece of kit, from its look down to the usability. The Akai APC40 basically introduces a completely new way of mixing for me in terms of creativity and track collection/selection. Effects can also be controlled, so it might be a really cool unit to use on a stage as well. As with all new bits of tech stuff it always takes some time to get your head into all the newest, sweetest features, but the forecast for this is excellent!”

Hi, Vladimir from Kiev here! Woody, how much had you had to drink before you went on stage to play at the launch of the Purple Audio Tour at HeavensGate then?!

Woody says: Ha! Yes, funnily enough many people have asked that! The truth of it is though that it was my agency that was promoting the night and the police had turned up 20 minutes before my set and were keen to close the venue down. I spent every second up until the start of my set playing the diplomat and charming them not to do so. Somehow I managed it, they went off into the night and I went straight from the front door to the DJ booth. The performance that night was a combination of a considerable release of adrenaline, cross-brewed with the Guy Mearns remix of Coldplay’s ‘The Scientist’. What can I say, it’s a powerful combination! The short answer to your actual question though Vladimir is: 1 beer (a Heineken actually!).

2009 Becomes 2010

"It's amazing what we achieved with HeavensGate this year, after all those years of hard work to bring up the brand to people's minds and to spread the radioshow all over the world. Our events have received so much great feedback and that is really important to us. We always try to do something special that the people appreciate, something that's unusual and new, like the party in the Toyota Center Bochum in June this year. A Trance Party in a car center does not happen every day. And all 900 loved it! The co-op with our own HeavensGate Floor at this year's Soundtropolis was so succesfull that we are already booked for the 2010 edition. So now its time to plan next year, and we have some crazy ideas which now need to be discussed and elaborated on with our team. You can expect some great HeavensGate stuff in 2010, including Loveparade, a new Boat Party and the start of a compilation series. Look out!"
