© Black Hole RecordingsYour monthly update from Richard Durand came flying through the i:Vibes letterbox this morning. No bills though so read on for all the Durand news including an update on his very ambitions new artist project Vs. The World...

I would say there is a fair chance we can expect a Richard Durand collaboration with Russian trance jock Bobina in the near future after the pair had some studio time this past week. The fruits of their labour, well, snipped of what may be to come are on Richard’s Facebook page in a short video blog. It’s sounding very big so keep an ear out for that one over the next few weeks. In the meantime check out his new single ‘Run To You’, its not a Bryan Adams cover before you ask, below and more news on his new artist album project ‘Richard Durand Vs. The World’.

New Single: 'Run To You' – Out Now!

Featuring the echoing, enigmatic vocals of US songstress Hadley, 'Run To You' is Richard's first new material post the smash Wide Awake album. Premiered to fan delight on the ISOS:09 - India, Richard's mix is a high-grade euphoric floor-quencher, that's been doing considerable damage to the floors of Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Bobina, Gareth Emery, tyDi and fair few others besides. In their review DJ Mag gave the track 8/10, commenting that "Run To You has an 'Always The Sun' style tint to it, thanks in no small part to its highly concentrated rushing harmonics". Pointing the track in a yet more uplifting trajectory, Orjan Nilsen's rework finds its target perfectly, while Sean Tyas ramps up the bass and drums from the first beat, delivering a killer 5am moment. 'Run To You' has just been released and you can pick it up through Beatport here and iTunes there. The video is also online at YouTube, and you can take a squint by pointing your mouse at the link above!

Richard Durand Vs. The World

At the start of this month Richard unveiled his masterplan for a 2012 artist album that'll quite simply be like nothing else before it. Giving new meaning to the term 'high concept', 'Vs. The World' will see him collaborate on tracks with not only established heavyweight producers from around the planet, but also budding bedroom studio heads, lyricists and singers! The latter will be competing for co-production places on the album by entering the 'Vs. The World' contest (much more details on which are below!). Next year Richard will release a truly extraordinary collaborative album expedition. Its story starts here - read on for all the info you need to know!

Vs. The World: The Contest Commences!

The first regional round of the Richard Durand vs. The World contest has opened… Asia, Australia and New Zealand, you're up guys! Producers, singers and songwriters inside the region can head to Richard's Facebook Fanpage, click 'Download' on the App and grab the base track. Where you choose to go with it from there is entirely up to you! Tempo, style, feel, direction – you're in the driving seat! Apply your riffs, melodies, FX, top-lines, mainlines, bass, percussion – hey, do what you need to do to make it pop! You can network online with other like-minds to create it – you produce/they sing, vice versa, or whichever dynamic works for you! Once your masterpiece is complete (you have until the 12th of December to finish it), head back to the Fanpage click 'Upload'… and put it into contention!

NYE: Details Announced

Richard will be joining the line-up for Full On Ferry: London on the last day of 2011 for what promises to be the biggest trance blowout of the year! Alongside Judge Jules, Sied van Riel, Dash Berlin and (naturally enough) Ferry himself, he'll be delivering a set that knocks 2011 out of the park and sets the scene for what promises to be an extraordinary new year for Richard Durand. The O2 Academy Brixton is basecamp for the event and you can get more info on the gig & tickets from ticketmaster.co.uk/fullonferry. If you're anywhere else on Dec 31st, you might not be doing the year full justice!
