The latest release from Accuface, is one which features the top guys at the moment, DJs @ Work, with their awesome remix!
A brand new release from the psy-trance legend Accuface aka Marlen Jurs, is one of true quality and fits the uplifting sound of 2001-2 damn well.
With 3 tracks on the vinyl:
A1. Journey Into Sound (Club Mix) B1. Journey Into Sound (DJs @ Work Mix) B2. Red Sky (Maxi Version)
This is definitely a complete trancer for me.
Starting with the club mix of Journey through sound; we see a massive track which rumbles and rumbles for the first 2-3 minutes in a seemingly grueling hard trance track typical of a German production.
With the first 2-3 minutes resembling that of a Cosmic Gate production or so, the first break which comes, arrives with a surprise. Some might describe it as a wonky male vocal break, others would say its a big euro trance break, some would consider it typical of the new-style of uplifting trancers from Germany. Personally, its a great break for me, and from there, it builds and builds into a bubbling melodic groove from then on.
Theres a small break about halfway into the track, and then another one about 3/4 way in, and this is definitely Blank & Jones' esque stuff, and reminds you that the uplifting sound is still around and kicking.
Coming onto the b-side, my current favourites and the tip for the next top producers around, comes a remix from DJs @ Work. The identity of these guys is that they're 5 guys from Germany who come out with quality production after quality production and so far have not disappointed me in any way.
This remix is no different, with a more 'happy going' kind of sound to it, and it would do well nicely at the end of a Talla 2XLC set or a DJ Tandu one, with its nice breakbeat samples, and minimal usage of the vocals. Listening to it kinda makes you a bit more happy than before. Nice remix!
Red Sky is the 2nd track on the b-side, and does not move away from the Euro trance sound which Journey Into Sound provides. This actually would pass more of as a DJs @ Work production than the usual Accuface productions we may be more aware of from the 90s. This is not saying that this is a bad production. Far from it! Another very typical track that Blank & Jones would play in their current N-Joy sets and is one of those Euro-esque tracks which seem to be doing the rounds at the moment.
Overall a nice LP, with the Club Mix probably coming out the strongest, or perhaps the DJs @ Work mix; I haven't quite decided myself =) So I guess you should pick this up and have a listen!
Released on Tunnel Records Germany in 2002!
