The duo from Perfecto are Jake Williams & Ian Masterson aka numerous guises such as Trouser Enthusiasts, Mekka,

Under his Trouser Enthusiasts moniker Ian's given pop royalty Kylie, St Etienne and the Pet Shop Boys bona-fide trance anthems as well as scoring underground success with his mixes of Armin's "Blue Fear", Mother's Pride's "Learning to Fly" as well as Karen Ramirez's "Looking For Love", a certified Twilo anthem. He was even offered the ultimate accolade by Sydney-dwellers in 1999 when he was made musical director for their internationally renowned Mardi Gras.

"The Music in You" may be Ian's debut solo offering for the label but his relationship with Paul Oakenfold goes back a way. Having finished his degree in Psychology at Cambridge University he was feeling the pressure of expectations. Paul liked some of his earlier remixes so Ian used to travel up to Cream to take him test pressings of his stuff: "He'd play the tracks I'd give him in the Courtyard. He gave me a great deal of confidence and made me realise that I could make a career from doing what I loved ".

With long time studio partner Jake (JX) he gave Perfecto their biggest hit of last year with "Bullet In The Gun 2000", as well as co-producing Mekka's "Diamondback", the undergound trancer that saw Perfecto kick off 2001 in such style. Now he's going to blow both those out the water with Monoboy. Make sure the music's in you.

Jake's lucky break came in 1993 when Hooj Choons' Red Jerry invited him down to his studio, after the 19 yr old had sent a batch of demos to various record companies on spec. Soon FFrr had thrown him a deal, and, Jake, as JX, enjoyed a slew of Top 10 hits, with classic nineties anthems such as 'Nothing I Won't Do', 'You Belong To Me' and 'Son Of A Gun' selling well over half a million copies between them. He was also involved in last year's Planet Perfecto Top 10 hit, 'Bullet In The Gun', which has shifted around 200,000 to date.

Mekka represents a departure from Jake's previous guises. A reaction against both the emphatic commerciality of JX as well as a canvas for
Jake's own idiosyncratic ideas and creativity, the Mekka vibe is "simple, humble and unpretentious - the opposite to what I used to with JX, which by the end was all about chasing a hit. When you try to write a hit, the pleasure side gets lost really quickly.
