BT
Biography:
BT (aka Brian Transeau) isn’t unknown to the scene. He started in the early ‘90s with producing, along the side of Deep Dish (who recently mixed Global Underground 021). With productions like ‘Moment Of Truth’ and ‘Relativity’.

But it wasn’t till 1996 that he produced his first solo album, called IMA. IMA made BT stand out from the rest of the producers, with magical songs like ‘Divinity’ (released as promo with the BT logo etched on the B-side, RARE!!) and the remarkable Sasha mix of the songs, called ‘Sasha’s Voyage Of IMA’. One of the 12” releases of the album, Blue Skies, was a collaboration with Tori Amos, famous for her constant search of new boundaries within the music. That song got a lot of recognition, and is still being played this day.

1997 was the year for his second album, ESCM, which was the start of a ‘eon’ with Jan Johnston as the vocalist. ‘Flaming June’ and ‘Remember’ are the two most famous productions from that album. She also sung the vocals for ‘Lullaby for Gaia’.
Jan Johnston was in fact discovered by BT, who was browsing through some records and found a record with her vocals on it. It wasn’t till 6 months later that he listened to it, and discovered that the vocals were nothing less then beautiful lyrics, sung in a magical way.
He got in contact with Jan, and used those vocals for Libra’s Calling Your Name, which is used in American Pie.

3 years later, BT’s third album ‘Movement In Still Life’ was released, again with collaborations, and this was present in ‘Mercury & Solace’. A song which brought a whole new meaning to the words emotions in trance songs.

In the mean time he has released two other albums: in 2001 he released ‘Still Life In Motion’ and that same year he released ‘R&R’ (Rare & Remixed), an excerption of the remixes he did, or other people did for him.

2002 unfortunately, started off the wrong way, thieves broke in to BT’s studio, and stole all his stuff; computers, harddrives, and even the work he had done so far. Maybe it was a rival, maybe some guys who just wanted to steal something?? Who knows?

Right now, he’s working on new stuff, which will involve Jan Johnston once again.
