Hi, and welcome to this monthly diary featured exclusively on ivibes.nu!

As for those of you who don't know who we are, we're two guys from Norway who recently got signed to the rising new label Somatic Sense Recordings runned by none other than Pascal Van Eijk (DJ Precision).

Vascotia was formed in September 2003 by two young guys from Norway, Frode Kambo Nilsen and Frode "Lavizh" Røhne. We both have years of experience with producing and musical intererests.

News from Vascotia.
Our first release, Calibro on Somatic Sense, has allready won the hearts of many producers and DJ's around the globe, we've been getting lots of congratulations and positive feedbacks on this new song.

The vinyl also features a SMASHING remix done by Daniel Grigore (Sonicvibe) which has rampaged thru the charts and was voted MASSIVE #2 by Johan Gielen after a set he did.

Calibro was also voted April's "Tune of the month" by Mixmag and here's what they had to say :

"For a label that's only on it's fifth release, Somatic Sense has created quite a name
for itsself. They've impressed with all their releases, and now the emotive paths and delicate vocals of 'Calibro' push trance up to heady heights. Now they've got the problem of delivering an even better follow-up."

Nearly two months after the release it's still doing very well, it started up on #28, climbed to #23, then #17 and finally reached #1 place on IDP (Dutch Dance Charts).

As you might have guessed, considering that this is our first release, we are very happy with this archievement.

You can read the Somatic Sense press-release about Calibro here

Featured compilations.
The Sonicvibe remix of Calibro is allready featured on two compilations, first up was Sony with their new CD compilation Trance Vol. 1 2004 - The Ultimate Collection which was released february 28th 2004, next up in line was Misja Helsloot with his new 2 CD release, Back From Your Past out may 5th 2004 on Gesture Music.
The newest edition was Dj Marcky with Moments in trance.

We are awaiting another compilations at the end of May.

The Remix parts.
We've been getting alot of remix jobs from all over the globe and unfortunately we can't say yes to every single one, but we are working hard and we will deliver 3 remixes in the near future.

Vascotia is working on a remix for Forza (Nephilim), Greg Murray and DJ Cop vs. Dito. at the moment.

The Future Sense.
As for the followup for Calibro, which is a hard job, believe me! But we are indeed working on one, but at the present time, we don't have much information to give out.

We're working on getting a remixer who are up for the job, but that person would have a hard time on his hands to match what Sonicvibe did on Calibro!

Word gets around, doesnt it?
Here's what people had to say about the tune :

Ryan G : Calibro is one of those really great euphoric tunes that I never seem to get tired of hearing. The Sonicvibe remix is also really great, and can definately say these guys, and Somatic, are ones to watch in the future!

Mike Shiver : Im glad to see my dear collegue Sonicvibe doing such progress. Beautiful remix from Daniel Grigore and creds to the Vascotia guy for inventing such a good melody! Prime time play!!

Dave Dempsey : One of the records of 2004 so far, a big set ending record!

Passiva : I haven't heard such an original euphoric melody in quite some time. Those guys really did a great job!!

Andy @ i:Vibes.nu : Calibro is a massive tune with an incredible floordestroying Sonicvibe Mix. Take notice of both Sonicvibe and Vascotia, they will be ones to watch for.

Envio : Calibro is an amazingly powerful debut from this norwegian duo!
