Back in miami once again after a lovely sumer of gigs and this time i learn a few tricks from my last visit to make it easier ...

I get a hotel the night before i have to fly this time so i am not to tired. Its always an early flight to miami so i have to make sure im not traveling up that day or ill start to feel ill.

I arrive at 2.25pm (miami time) And have a little trouble with control because i do not have a date to return due to many studio things being arranged so they check all my bags and annoyingly shake my effects machine to see what it is. If i had a bad temper i would have smacked them but i just smiled and let them get on with it. Later that day we check out a bar i shall be playing at tomorrow just to get a feel for things and check the set up is how i want it.

Its a nice little place down Lincoln road which is one of the most famous shopping areas in miami. The music can be heard outside of the bar where there are seats so this is very good for me to get peoples attention as they pass.

I play the bar at 10pm till midnight and test out a few new tunes. They go down well and the bar manager is very nice. Everybody inside is dancing and the people outside and bopping along as they eat and drink.

24/09/05

Well today is the day i play at one of the most famous clubs in the world.. Space, Miami. I go early to check out the set up and find that the dj booth is realy high up so you get a great view of things.

Later that night we head over to the club in style in a nice range rover and we head to the main room where i am the opening dj. By the time i am half way through my 2 hour set the club is packed and people are going nuts. There is a train horn and that hardly ever gets blown .. so one of the residents tells me.. Over the course of the night i get it blown for me 5 times.. everytime the crowd go into a frenzee and beg for more. After 2 hours im told to stay on for another hour because things are going so well. We throw out t shirts for the crowd and someone even threw theirs back at us. I can safely say this is so far the best night of my career and i will never forget it.

I head up to the newest and most expensive night club in Miami, Nocturnal. It is right next to Space and it looks amazing inside. I'm in a little glass room and the whole lcub is empty but i carry on and do my thing mixing in my headphones becuase the monitors are messed up already. It didn't go to plan but we all have bad gigs and they are a learning experience. However its not a total loss i am asked back when i have some time to play a saturday in the main room.

Considering its tipping it down outside Nikki Beach is packed inside as i play the downstairs room mixing up the funky and the techy together. People keep asking for cds at gigs so i got a few ready for this one to hand out. Its a nice gig i play for 2 hours then head to the vip section which is right in the middle of the club and relax on the sofas.
