January started off very slow with me doing mostly studio time and finishing up a few tracks of mine.
On the 29th january me and my fiancee headed up to Newcastle for a gig i was doing. I havdn't been up to Newcastle for ages so it was a nice chance to catch up with a few mates who i knew would be at the gig.
We checked into the hotel and crossed the river to find the Tuxedo Princess. I don't really know what i was expecting when i was told it was a boat but this boat was massive and very well kitted out. By the time we got there the sounds were already banging out in all the rooms.
We hung about in the hardstyle room for a bit to check it out. Because this was an OVERLOAD event, which is part of Q dance, the hardstyle was in the main room and it was really stonking although a little empty.
When it was time for me to go on in the hard dance room we headed upstairs and found the dj booth, checked out a few tunes before just so i didnt play anything the same, and settled into the vibes.
I went on after dj rossi who had cut and scratched up his hard house set and really had them pumping for me. I played for 2 hours mixing up hard house, hard trance, filth and some classic remixes which had everyone going nuts. The MCS were walking into the crowd handing out cds i had made specially for the gig and the atmosphere was electric. At one point a guy hopped the barrier and got me to sign his tidy trax t shirt which i did with great pleasure.
By the end of my set everyone was after autographs which was lovely and the Mcs said i did a brilliant job. I played my last tune just as Paul Glazby arrived to take over and he played his usual tech infused hard dance.
It was a brilliant night we hung around for a whil and checked out the house room which sadly was empty but the dj in there was still giving it everything he had.
