History:
BLUE RECORDS PROFILE
Blue Records has it’s origin in 1995 with the release of the first Klubbheads record ever, 'cha cha', released on February 16th. The Klubbheads were responsible for this label at that time. With Blue Records’ second release, Itty Bitty Boozy Woozy’s 'tempo fiesta', the label already achieved a certain 'club label status' because of the global success of this release. Nice detail is that a lot of producers that are now enjoying their famousness had their first break on Blue Records, like Ferry Corsten, De Bos, Atlantic Ocean, Mark van Dale, The Ultimate Seduction and of course the Klubbheads themselves.
After 30 mega-selling releases and the start of their own company, they 'gave' Blue Records back To Mid-Town. For a year, Blue Records was run by Peter Gelderblom (DJ Peter G.), and artists like DJ Peter G. & The Clubjock, BOB Ltd, Klubbmasters and Fab Flavour (a.o.) were added to the already impressive artist roster. Two new sub-labels where founded: Blue White and Blue Special. At the end of 1999, Peter decided to leave Blue Records to concentrate on his activities as a club-owner. From that moment on, Blue Records was handled by the Mid-Town A&R department, in close collaboration with Bart and Tom of Club Caviar. They put a lot of time and effort in managing Blue Records to maintain the high standard of quality releases, and developed the new Blue Records web site using the latest techniques.
Blue Records certainly reached an untouchable status with the release of 'blow ya mind' by Lock ‘n Load. It entered the UK Singles Charts at # 6 and was to be found in Dance and Sales charts globally. It sold over 250.000 copies in the UK, 400.000 copies worldwide and reached the silver record status in the UK and golden status in Scandinavia! The success story continued with artists like Hammerhouse, DP Crew, DJ Rob Fabrie, Mass Medium, Da Bootleggers and new Club Caviar and Lock ‘n Load productions, which had numerous Dance Chart and Singles Charts positions to account for. With so many successes and the consistent quality of releases, Blue Records can rely on a solid reputation, recognition and respect from DJ’s as well as producers and A&R’s from all over the world.
