Post Post subject: Soft Synths? Reply with quote

Hi I have a question about soft synths, im not sure if this is the right forum to put it under, oh well!

Here is my dilema, I have recently bought a digital piano with midi capabilities and my plan was to be able to plug a synth module rack into it to turn it into a synthesiser. Recently I have been talked out of this and I was told that soft synth was alot cheaper and better option to go for as far as synthesising goes.

My question is, with my situation is it better to go the synth module or the soft synthesiser software, as all I want to do is be able to create sounds through my digital piano, using that as a midi controller. Im not so much as interested in creating entire songs with drum loops, bass lines etc. My main genre of focus is towards Orchestral scores, so I really want to be able to create some nice sounding strings through my piano. Will soft synth software
allow me to do this? , and if so can anyone recomend the right type of software/hardware for my situation?

Thanks,
any help would be appreciate

soft synths can pretty much create any sounds u want with the right preset

the only main advantage hard synth has over soft synth is that u can show
it off when playing live

otherwise soft synth does pretty much the same job and is much cheaper

for nice strings u may try PRO-53 or Reason's Malstrom
but then everone's has their own taste
