Post subject: Track Titles |
|
|
Trance tracks have a big variety of names. So here's a question I thought was interesting:
1. What's your favourite electronica title?
2. What's the most appropriate title (aside from vocal tunes) where the sound of the track seems to match the title?
3. What's the stupidest title that does not match the track at all?

1. James Talk - Beef Curtains
- I wonder what James was thinking when he came up with this one, same goes for his hilariously titled "Eggs Are Cute".
2. Nalin & Kane - Beachball (Original Club Mix/Extended Vocal Mix)
- Both mixes hit the spot and make me think about spending a sunday afternoon on the beach with friends.
3. Age Of Love - The Age Of Love
- Never really understood why this amazing and timeless classic is titled this way.. the track is great but the title doesn't bring any thoughts about love into my mind, more like thoughts about dancing in a club.

1: Tie between:
Trouser Enthusiasts - Sweet Release (Second Coming Mix)
Jacob London - No Farting In The Ice Fort
2: Darude - Sandstorm
Not that I like the track so much anymore, but it really did fit the track.
3: Mavi - A Tribute to M&M's
Great song, but...eh?

Not sure about #1!
#2: G.D. - Choral Reef
- Hard to pick just one, but this one makes me think of an underwater world, and that's why I picked it!
#3: Travel - Bulgarian
- "Bulgarian" -> like someone who comes from Bulgaria!? Stupid title IMO

1. James Talk - Eggs are Cute
Phonetic spelling of exquisite, by the way.
Also Gouryella - Walhalla
Underworld - Cowgirl
Hi-Gate - Caned and Unable
For an artist name, I like Citizen Caned. Clever.
2. I know I've said this before, but I just love The Shrink - Nervous Breakdown. Captures the feeling of going crazy, I think.
3. Midway - Monkey Forest

I just found an interesting track name from one of Ferry Corsten's old aliases, Party Cruiser.
This Records Is Being Played In Clubs, Discolounges, House- Basement- Or Blockparties
I've never heard the track, but what the heck?

I dunno if that was a question, and I'm probably being really obvious here, but beef curtains are a reference to a...uh...woman's privates.

I had to dig up this post when I received Balance 005 (James Holden) with the following track on it:
FortDax - Fortune Telling Fish, Curled To Suggest 'Home'
It's quite the title.
