Lots of remixes these days seem to involve simply tweaking the synths and bass-line, without much change.
So name some remixes where the remix was drastically different from the original!

Argh, I can't think of ANY at the moment, but I've heard quite a few that might as well just be a different tune altogether! Smile If my brain starts working at some point, I'll try and list them.

I dunno if the remixes should only be trance/uplifting trance but here's some older stuff of a few genres i still enjoy listenin :

Vengaboys - Uncle John From Jamaica (M.I.K.E. Remix & Instrumental)
- only thing in common with the original which i can notice, is a few seconds excerpt of the vocals and nothing else.. the instrumental doesn't even have that.
- a decent remix but not even close of M.I.K.E.'s best stuff anyway

Alice Deejay - Celebrate Our Love (Solid Sessions Remix)
- made the cheesy original into a moody deeper trancer with about nothing in common with the original.

DJ Sakin & Friends - Protect Your Mind (Van Bellen Remix)
- wonderfully smooth deep houser/progger which removed all the cheesyness of the original and Suspicious mixes.

Watergate - Heart Of Asia (James Holden Remix)
- this is a very deep and very different approach to the track and doesn't feature the main melody at all.

Art of Trance - Madagascar (Cygnus X Remix)
- totally different sounding remix which later on was remixed again by Ferry Corsten, Push, Transa, Michael Woods and none of the remixes sound like original either.

RMB - Spring (Future Breeze Remix)
- rather slow bpm, very different deeper trancey remix with some nice acidic flavours and far from Future Breeze's usual cheesyness.
- slightly similar in style with mixes of X-Cabs - Neuro.

Subliminal Cuts - Le Voie Le Soleil (Fade Remix)
- totally different journey beyond the original, features the main melody only for some seconds around halfway into the track.

Blockster - Grooveline (Matt Darey Remix)
- fantastic trancer out of a very cheesy housey original.

System F - Cry (Oliver Lieb Remix)
- much lighter than most Lieb's works are but a great remix anyway.

Well, lots of proggy kind of remixes sound pretty much nothing like the originals so there are a million more but i can't think of them all now. Will add more later if i come up with any good ones.

System F Vs. Armin Van Buuren - Exhale (Sander Kleinenberg Remix)
-Darker and minimal compared to the original, the base and stabs have been used as the main melody or rhythm in the track... This is amazing!!

Joshua Ryan - Pistolwhip (James Holden Remix)
-Another one by Mr. Holden, and still another outstanding track... Only using the under-layers of the original, he brings them out as the main element.

Katana - Tribal Shock (Perry O'Neil Remix)
-The original is driving and tech-driven trance whilst this is just melodic, progressive and sweeping... One of his best remixes easily. He has done a few changes to other tracks like he has to this one.

Bedrock - Beautiful Strange (Voyager Platinum Remix)
-OMG! Lol. Havent heard this for ages but this is so different from the original. This is early tech-trance/progressive trance stuff... Driving and minimal. Sounds even better than when I first heard it...

Coburn - We Interrupt This Program (Einmusik/Interrupted Vocal Mix)
Not entirely different, but the vocal sample has been re-worked, and there is very little similarity with the original.

Pretty much every (official) remix of Blank & Jones classic track "DJ's, Fans, & Freaks" sounds completely different from one-another; Original, Trance Mix, Marco V, and Komakino all have very little in common - if anything.

Fresh - Submarines
Not sure if this one should count, since the remixes themselves are all of different substyles, and therefore rather different through necessity.

Jeremy Sylvester - Got Soul (Original/Dub Mix)
Both House, both of a similar flavour, but still very much completely different tracks.

Shiloh - Baby (Original/Brutalized Mix)
Another two tracks that have very little (if anything) in common.

Delirium feat. Sarah Mclachlan - "Angel" sounded ageless until DJ Tiesto worked out on the track.
