Post subject: Trustable DJ Brands. |
|
|
I'm interested in beginning to DJ, but the problem is I don't really know what brands are reliable and good value for the money. I'm looking for an entire setup minus speakers for $1000 Canadian or less (Not a whole lot..). Any suggestions?

Well , Technics are the tables you want. You can find decent used 1200 mk2s on ebay for 200-300 usd. Get yourself a decent Gemini PSP mixer used on ebay for 30-60usd. I use a stero turner as an amp and have some nice pioneer tower speakers and polk audio monitors. My headphones are sony. id say my whole set up is about 1200usd. This is the gear ive used for 6 years. Still sounds great, still gets the police to the house on some nights =). GL

Allen And Heath, Korg my favorite!
With your budget you could even go an ace digital setup: A nice Mac, DAW like Ableton or Tracktor and a MIDI Controller! IMHO gives the user more freedom to be creative with sets.
But if you wish for a hardware setup then Ofcourse Pioneer most trusted like everyone else mentioned. but go for second hand ones cuz brand new will be very expensive and you might have to replace then after some time anyways.
PS: Invest in a great pair of headphones!

In that budget, digital would be the most cost effective option. Assuming you already have a laptop.
If you have a laptop, great, go for the Pioneer DDJ-T1. That's exactly $999 canadian at the Tom Lee canadian store btw!
