Lot 49 start the summer off in style with the first Vinyl Sampler taken from Meat Katie’s forthcoming compilation (out 4th June), featuring two of the hottest tracks from the mix. The highly anticipated compilation is an exploration into his inimitable DJing style and sound. It’s a relentless, vibe-ing mix from start to finish, which is just about as close as you can get to seeing Meat Katie live without actually being in a club. Its also an exact representation of where LOT 49 is at right now, and where its going in the future. About the mix, Mark says, ‘Maybe its not very PC or very 'experimental' to actually try to capture your live performance on a mix comp, love it or hate it, I don’t want people to get confused as to what I do, I like it dirty and rolling…and more than anything I like my sets to carry some attitude & bollox!’

The first Sampler features a classic tune ‘Muzika’ from Lot 49 co-owner Dylan Rhymes. It has been craftily re-worked by Rogue Element into a blistering, filthy tune which grows to an epic peak. It’s the perfect follow-up to Dylan Rhymes’ and Jono Fernandez’ recent release on Lot 49 ‘Breathe’ as it maintains the same gritty, raw, acid feel. This remix has long been a staple in Mark’s sets, which is precisely why it made the compilation. Here’s Mark’s thoughts on the track: “Rouge element is so much more than just the shining white hope for Breaks, as demonstrated on this remix, I don’t even know what you would call this style.......”

On the flip we offer Jamie McHugh’s debut on LOT 49 with his fantastic ‘Yeah’. Jamie’s been a very busy man of late with forthcoming tracks on Brique Rouge, Twisted Frequency and CR2…plus heaps more in the pipeline. He’s a fantastic new talent and we’re pleased to have his first track on Lot 49 feature not only on Mark’s compilation but also on the Sampler. An amalgamation of his deeper techno vibes thrown over a breakbeat, a superbly detailed production builds into a full-on pumping track. “Jamie McHugh is a versatile producer, best known for his techno, but here on ‘Yeah' he works up a quality electro-esq groove over a chunky programmed break” says Mark.
