My girlfriend really likes Benny Benassi, and he is playing at a local club either tomorrow or some time this weekend and she insists that we go. I personally think he is ok, there is one song of his that I really like and it is called Love is Gonna Save Us. Any way what do you guys think of him? What songs of his would you recommend that I purchase/listen to (aside from the all too comercial Satisfaction and the one I already stated above)?

Most of his songs sound the same, but I still find them pretty good. Smile

I would have to agree strongly with Stream on that one.

Yes, the Benassi singles have a striking, unique sound to them -- but it was too thin for me to be stretched over the course of what is essentially a WHOLE album.

However motapower, to answer your question, if your girlfriend really likes Benny Benassi, then get his album Hypnotica for her. You may first wish to preview sound samples for yourself here:

He does have his own kind of electro style sound to his tracks and remixes but he has done some good stuff.

he is overdoing it at this stage... even when he plays live he plays too much of his own material... its all exactly the same with a modified melody...... HOWEVEr you could say the EXACT same thing about trance in the past couple of years....

Thanks guys, I already went to some sites that have samples of his songs and my girlfriend sent me some of his tracks. I actually liked most of them more than I expected to. I am definetely more pumped about watching him live now. Thanks to everyone that helped me, if I manage to take good pics I'll try to post them here if any one wants me to.

So I'm here at work right now, tired and hung over from the Benassi show last night... The show was awesome, he was definetely worth watching and I gained a lot of respect for him. Benassi's performance is perhaps one of the best I've seen so far (and I've seen Tiesto, Oakenfold, van Dyk, which are pretty big djs) though he was definetely not the greatest.
Benassi played for over 2 and a half hours, it was awesome, and he was a really down to earth person. He let a lot of people take pictures and he even took someone people up to his booth and let them take pictures with him.
I would definetely recommend that you guys watch him if you get a chance, he was definetely worth it.
Thanks to everyone that submitted songs for me to listen to, and btw I guess I'll try to watch the xxx version of satisfaction, i've never seen it but I've heard about it.

Hell yes!! The Vadim Zhukov Remix is so good!!! It has the same Benassi-ness about it, yet with the epic Vadim Zhukov sound, and that added section of the song to Love Is Gonna Save Us just adds a trancier and dancier feel to the song as a whole! Laughing

dude, all of benny's works are really good, this guy is like the god of trance to me. ur girlfriend has great taste!!! I know this song that'st called "I love my sex" That has got to be the best song that he sings, but i think your girlfriend would like that one rather than you cuz it speaks from a chick's point of view, but there isn't any hurt in listening to it. Infact, i have it on my computer. If you r interested, i can send it to you so that you can hear it, it's awsome!!!!

Thanks for the song list... ever since I saw him live I've grown to like his style a lot. Now I think he is awesome, though I'm soooo sick of satisfaction and no matter what you do (cause they are still being overplayed)

Hey, has anyone heard his remix of Electric Six's Dance Commander? Now that was a neat track... Interesting track choice for a remix and kind of a cool take. The trademark Benassi sound works really well in that context.

Benny benassi tracks sound crap. Too much compression and too much treble on EQ. Also the sounds are all the same.

some of his songs are better than the other of course.. over all he has a style that is getting a little old i wish he would do a little more with it.. push it a bit further...i like his stuff .. the only negative side is that it gets boring pretty fast..
i got few of my firends totally hooked on it... they keep waiting for his newest tunes.. haha
