Free-Spirit DJ’s & Production – Update Nov 04

Since our launch at the end of October we have been very busy at Free-Spirit. All our artists have been performing actively in the UK and abroad and even have some new tunes on the horizon. Below is a brief introduction to all the artists we represent. All of their profiles are viewable on our website, www.free-spirit.eu.com, as well as their upcoming schedules. All their latest demos and excerpts from their latest tracks are also available to listen to online. If you are interested in booking any of our artists for your event, please get in touch with us via our booking form.

DJ & Producer Jay Om aka Journey began his career as a DJ on the hard dance/trance side, but more recently has moved over more towards psy-trance, also dabbling in ambient. He plays regularly around London and also runs his own Implosion events. In 2003 he studied Sound Recording and Music Technology and in 2004 began working on a new project, Free-Spirit DJ's & Production, of which he is the Director. He is not only a DJ, but also a psy-trance producer under the name Journey. You can catch Jay Om at the following events in December:

DJ & Producer Mad Theo is a brilliant new talent on the underground trance scene. He covers numerous genres, but his true love is hard trance and his happy, bouncing style is notorious for getting the dancefloor going. He is currently resident for Undertow and hUJe, and holds regular guest slots with Logic, The Gathering, Kane, Oblivion, Damage Control and numerous others. DJ M.A.N In 1999 M.A.N had his first taste of DJing and he and four friends bought a pair decks and began to build up their record collection. His first set was at Logic in 2000 at the George IV in London. He soon started his own promotion, the Gathering, which is still running today. Behind the decks M.A.N’s speciality is Uplifting Trance, with a little NuEnergy mixed in for good measure. His mixing style flows naturally dependant on the reaction of the crowd and the hour he plays. You can catch M.A.N at the following events in December:

DJ Mish-Mash first began DJ’ing in late 1999, creating a unique style from his love of house, uplifting trance, hard trance, psychedelic, hard house, techno, drum ‘n bass and French hardcore. More recently, Mish-Mash has begun working on the production of some of his own music and is striving to break more into the International market. You can catch Mish-Mash at the following events in December:

On the Dance side:
DJ Phil Able has a classical music background – he is graded up to 5 on piano and classical guitar – which becomes apparent in his mixing, selection of bassline notes and their mix points. He was a guitarist in a rock band for 5 years and so strives for the reaction, regardless of the music style he is playing. He tends to lean towards the hard and dark, but always plays for his crowd. As far as genres go he plays what he loves and this ranges through everything from funky house, electro, gothic trance and breaks to Hard house, hard trance and techno.

DJ & Producer Toxigen plays numerous different styles from Hard Trance to Dance to Funky House and Full on Psychedelic Trance. In 2003 he studied Music Technology and Electronic music Production and began his dream of producing his own tunes. . You can catch Toxigen at the following events in December:

DJ & Producer Marcello V.O.R. aka 2Hi (in collaboration with Vibra) is a Neurobiotic Records label DJ and has also recently begun releasing a tracks in collaboration with Vibra under the name 2Hi. He is an accomplished DJ who has played throughout his native Brazil at numerous events including Etnicanet's Celebra Brasil, Boom Festival's Ypy Poty and Solar Flares' Trancendence. He has also played at major European festivals including VooV Experience, Shiva Moon and Fullmoon Festival. November sees the release of a new 2Hi track, “Bad Azz” on Proton Records compilation Positive Prototype. You can catch Marcello V.O.R at the following events in December:

DJ & Producer Marchello aka cimi is an Etnicanet records label DJ. He hails originally from Tuscany, Italy, but is now permanently resident in London. Over the years his style has developed from a progressive to a more full-on psychedelic sound. He has played for most of the psy-trance promotions in London and the South East, both indoor and outdoor and since joining Etnicanet has had the opportunity to travel abroad, DJing in Italy for the Chimera Organization, in Brazil at the Celebra Festival and other events in Hungary and Greece. DJ, Producer and LIVE P.A. M-Klome is relatively new on the scene as a LIVE P.A, but has been actively producing music for the last 2 ½ years. He debuted at the launch party of Fairy Tales compilation (Alchemy Records) on which he has released one of his tracks, Secret Plants. You can catch M-Klome at the following events in December:

DJ & Producer Jimmy 9 (Velonostaff-Records) plays a mixture of Progressive and Full on Psy-Trance. He currently plays throughout Italy and has recently played twice for Psygate: the Indoor Festival in London. At the beginning of 2004 he collaborated with a few other artists on a project called Velenostaff and released two of his own tracks on their compilation album, Veleno Compilation 2004. Free-Spirit DJ’s & Production Agency Update “Feb 05”

2005 is now firmly upon us and it looks like a busy year ahead for all our artists.

Our Psy sector has grown with the addition of Edoardo (Neurobiotic) and DJ Sam@Chaishop. Both are accomplished artists, well known on the international scene and are a regular feature at numerous festivals and parties.

Our Ambient sector is up and running, made up of Nova (Ultimae records), Jay Om and DJ Sam@Chaishop.

2005 is looking like the a very promising year for Cimi aka Marchello. Marchello grew up in Tuscany, Italy and spent his teenage years listening to progressive techno and tribal house. In 1997 he moved to London and it is in this vibrant city that he discovered trance and began to DJ in 1998. His first gigs were at “The *beep* and Tavern”, one of the most remembered underground venues of that period. It is here that Chichime parties were born, where Marchello was and still is a regular DJ. A few years later he began a residency at Fairy Tales and thanks to these promotions he has played alongside numerous world renowned artists and has developed his style from a more progressive oriented sound to full on psychedelic. During the past years he has played for most of the psy-trance promotions in London and the South East, both indoor and outdoor, including events such as Enlightment, Astral Phoenix, Psygate and Mindscapes.

In 2001 he became a label DJ for Etnicanet Records and since then has had the opportunity to travel abroad, DJing in Italy for the Chimera Organization, in Brazil at the Celebra Festival, Freakadelic and Brazilian Trance Festival and other events in Hungary, Greece and France. Marchello has always known that he needs to work hard to succeed and in his early days as DJ practiced a lot and never gave up the chance to play, no matter what the promotion. He sees a bright future for the trance scene and wants to make sure he will be a part of it. He is producing music under the name Cimi, his solo project, and has recently begun a collaboration with M-Klome under the name Sisma. His most recent release is a track in collaboration with Sharigrama, Muddy Dancing, on Alchemy records. DJing is still a one of his major passions and we will definitely see him appearing in both guises for a long time coming. Check out our site for his newest track, “One more hit”, which will be out on the shelves soon. His latest DJ mix has also just been uploaded to the site.
