Genre: |
Ambient/Atmospheric |
History:
It was formed in 1999 by Simon Lomax (aka Maitreya) and Kama Glover, who is a visual artist. They wanted to do it because they wanted to do something that they believed in and also they are dead serious about their work. Council of Nine started as a means to release Maitreya's music. They only have four releases because they have such a high quality control and they want to be known for consistency. They are one of the few labels that is ambient and atmospheric music. They put their all into every single release and you can tell that it stands out. The packaging for everything is carefully done, not just a rush job. The website is also carefully put together and the music itself is finely crafted. If you are looking for ambient music, then give this record label, a look.
