 A very welcome piece of news in the mailbox today from the Mondo Recordings HQ with all the very latest going on with the label…
The good old newsletter is still alive and well and if you’re a subscriber to a few then it’s a great source of information on your favourite things. Mondo Records is one of my favourite things and I like to keep up to date on the very latest from one of the UK’s best record labels and home to the outstanding talent that is Darren Tate. There are a few things to note this month with a new artist album from Darren, plenty of new singles to enjoy and the very welcome return of the ‘Mondo Sessions’.
Simon Gregory Performs @ Sunrise Festival
Simon Gregory, Mondo Records A&R and one half of the Digital Drift project, performs alongside Nitrous Oxide at the Sunrise Festival, heralded as one of the largest Polish hosted festivals! The response from the crowd was incredible!!!!
Fans were treated to many of the popular songs from the debut album “Droids”, coupled with some forthcoming ID’s both from the Digital Drift project and individually, and some familiar Mondo Records favourites like “Fool Me Once”. The whole event was a massive success, with over 30,000 people attending, and Digital Drift were fortunate to perform the blue stage alongside huge acts like Chicane, Darude and Rank 1!!!
Needless to say more is in the pipeline, with more events in Poland such as the upcoming We Love Trance CE in 2Progi where Simon Gregory will be performing a 1 hour classic’s set, followed swiftly by a Digital Drift set b2b with Nitrous Oxide.
Darren Tate Releases His First Solo Album On Anjunabeats
It was only a matter of time before this came about, following on from Darren’s massive collaborations with Jono Grant under the alias JODA, Darren has released his first solo album on Anjunabeats….Metamorphosis!
It goes without saying that the album is absolutely huge, and the response equally as huge! With massive club bangers like 5am to Luna and Crazy, to epic vocal masterpieces like Flashing Lights and Adrift, this album delivers with every single track! Those tuned into AGBT on a weekly basis will have heard many of these tracks played out on their more recent shows, and of course there are the Anjuna events where Darren treated us to epic live shows in Manchester and Brighton, each of which were a sight to behold and an auditory treat!
Following on from that, there has now been a remix package released on Anjunabeats for “A Long Way From Home”, a recent release in collaboration with Solarstone and Julie Scott. The package contains huge remixes from Alex Sonata & TheRio, James Grant and Jody Wisternoff! It goes without saying this is a package you don’t want to miss!!

Mondo Records Proudly Relaunches The Mondo Sessions!
The team have worked hard to relaunch the Mondo Sessions, a bi-weekly radio show featuring the latest new music and with a fresh new look and feel. Hosted by label boss Darren Tate, we are now 5 shows in, having hosted huge mixes from Simon Gregory, Nitrous Oxide, Jaytech, Dan Stone and C-Systems. We have some really exciting artists lined up for future shows.
We have had an amazing response so far, and the comments have been lovely, with some considering the show a “breath of fresh air” and reminiscing the Mondo Sessions of old! Needless to say, the new Mondo Sessions is here to stay, and we can’t wait to bring you more amazing shows from all these talented producers and DJ’s.
