The very latest John Askew single has landed on the VII label with a track he featured on his mix for the labels debut compilation. As you can expect, its another banger from start to finish...
There is very little nonsense when it comes to music and John Askew. His beauty for me within his tracks lies in there pure simplicity. I can’t really think of a track from Jon which does not invite you to punch the air with your fist. Since leaving Perfecto and launching his own label with seven of the finest talents in the trance scene he has enjoyed great success with some very fine releases. VII as a label was a very original idea and quality is something which John only allows to be released on the imprint. Its quality which Jon delivers in bucket loads with his latest single release as he burns the Midnight Oil with some banging trance.

I do love a good John Askew track. How would you define his style? For me, anything that sounds good. If you have to describe it though his tunes are rate quite highly on the thumping scale of things. What can you expect from Midnight Oil then? You can expect plenty of bang for your buck with it that’s for sure and as bonus addition a very addictive main hook which builds when the beat drops and explodes when the beat comes back. He has crafted yet another thumping trance track which does have a slight include of a familiar vocal sample from what I can make it. The vocal sample which not in speaking terms as its there for effect I think is one Paul van Dyk used in one of his old tracks. Along with that effect drops in another melody which has been crafted beautifully. Its juts a bloody good tune!
Conclusion:
This tune us as attractive as the pretty purple cover its wrapped it, if you like purple, I do in any case. It’s another full on banger from John with some very addictive melodies and hook lines. Quality trance, form a quality producer released on a quality label.
