© UnderworldThere is a brand new album on its way from a real legendary name in dance music. Underworld need no introduction and come this October they unload their brand new artist collection ‘Strawberry Hotel’…

I had to look this one up but Underworld was first created in 1987 by Rick Smith and Karl Hyde. That’s over 35 years ago and to be still releasing music to this day is quite a remarkable feat. While they were created in the 80’s you may well not have come across them until the early 90’s as they came think and fast with the dance stuff featured on their early albums. They are of course the guys behind the iconic record ‘Born Slippy’ which is still slid into today’s sets.

I’ve lost count of how many albums they have released over the years, their last artist one came in the form of the ‘Drift Series’ which was a mammoth boxset featuring over 6 discs and released over a flurry of formats. They never released a ‘Series 2’ in that edition but in recent years since have had a steady stream of new music and re-releases of their old classics. The Vinyl editions of these seem to sell out within hours of getting released and I’ve a couple in the collection I managed to grab before they all went.

There style is one which is forever changing and evolving with you never know what your going to get with each new release. Their new artist collection due out next month then will be a real mysterious treat into the unknown but with a talent like these guys you can be assured it will be top quality. The new album is called ‘Strawberry Hotel’ which features some very bright artwork colours. What to expect from it? I would not even like to guess but expect plenty of variety in there. The only glimpse is the opening track ‘Black Poppies’ which has been released as a digital single. What the other 14 tracks could bring on the album who knows but if you’re like me and getting this one –pre-ordered you will find on come the end of October.
