After releasing his acclaimed studio album 'Welcome To My World' in December, Bristol dance music legend Jody Wisternoff returns with a fresh perspective - this time, slowing things down.
Drawing on his long-standing love for downtempo and ambient music, Jody reinterprets the album’s tracks into chilled versions that highlight the originals’ melodic and emotive elements. Infused with lush pads, broken beats, and atmospheric textures, the Chill Mixes offer an introspective take on the album, showcasing Jody’s signature musicality in a different form.
“’Welcome to My World’ is an open invitation to step into my musical universe, gradually shaped over the 35 years I’ve spent in the game. For personal reasons, it also serves as a sonic timestamp - something I can look back on when I reach my twilight years.
While I was writing it, I felt the melodic elements in the tracks really stood out on their own. When Anjuna announced the chill label subsidiary, the idea for this companion release was cemented in my mind. Released in December, 'Welcome To My World' has amassed over 5 million streams and earned support from Gorgon City, Super Flu, Eelke Kleijn, Nick Warren, and Tim Green. The album also gained global recognition at radio, including on SiriusXM Chill, and reached the top 5 on Beatport's Dance, Breaks, Electronica, and Organic House charts.
