An excellent piece of melodic / uplifting Trance with a remix from Svenson and Gielen who have taken it a step further...
'Free' appears on the UNITED RECORDINGS label featuring the following tracks:
A1: Free (SVENSON & GIELEN REMIX) B1: Free (ORIGINAL MIX)
A1: Free (SVENSON & GIELEN REMIX) This is very happy and uplifting piece of trance. It starts off with your average thumping beat, as the loop effects come in it builds up nicely to form a nice piece of trance with an excellent melody. The wonderful synth melody is uplifting and sends happy vibes through your body. On the breakdown there's a small vocal talking about been free... the melody is played again with those wonderful happy synths and there's another synth on the build-up with reminds me of 'Gizeh - wonderful'. This track has an over all warm happy feeling to it which is great :)
B1: Free (ORIGINAL MIX) The original version is a little different than the Svenson and Gielen one. Initially it sounds a little harder and hasn't quite got that soft uplifting touch to it. The beat comes in a little harder still a few seconds later. The major difference is that those wonderful synths aren't here. The breakdown is identical to the remix, silence, vocals and that very happy sounding melody. The build-up with the melody gets more and more uplifting as its about to peak... then it goes all quiet and eventually the beat comes back into play, I think a lot of the energy that was building up was lost, but Svenson and Gielen managed to keep it flowing through out the whole track :)
Conclusion Its nice to know that there's still some excellent melodic / uplifting trance being produced. They don't come round very often so snap this one up if you get the chance. 9/10
