Blutonium's latest release is Trancin Your Mind, a superb LP contain 2 excellent mixes for those harder tipped trance fans.
Dirk Adamiak's latest offering, with fellow producer Michael Heider is a superb track titled Trancin' Your Mind, on Blutonium Records Germany. For those Scot Project, Thomas Trouble, Norman DJ, Kai Tracid fans alike, this will be well appreciatiated:
A1. DJ Virus Remix B1. Agenten der Nacht Mix
SOUND SAMPLE
Starting off with the A-side, we have DJ Virus on the remix. With the original already a banging track, the DJ Virus remix is one which brings in a more euro style uplifting trance tune, smashing the bass about during the first minute, adding a vibe which has been heard from past Blutonium Record releases.
The thing to look forward to is the superb break which pulls in a deep rumbling sound, added with vocals which I would imagine come out of Blade Runner or something similar before breaking out into a steady buildup and great synths.
Euro Trance? The sound which emanates after the break could be bordering on that, but some may dispute that. Has some similarites to the DRP "Invasion" record which was review a couple of weeks ago, the final half of the track is something of an excellent round up of what the current German Trance sound is.
Onto the aptly titled Agenten der Nacht Mix, we start of harder and darker tipped than the DJ Virus Mix, but in a sense, somewhat more 'progressive' in style and minimal. Think Mellow-D combined with Kai Tracid and you might be able to imagine the style of production here, taking away the 'euro' flavour which was present in the flip side.
When the break comes, the vocals have been pushed back and the sound is more edgy and acid like, with a different sort of synth bringing in that melody.
What we have seen to being prominent in Blutonium releases lately is the trademark breakbeat samples which are used towards the latter quarter of the track, which is great as it adds a little something different to what we are accustomed to from the German infusion of trance and techno. More of a Dub Mix this b-side, and is definitely the stronger of the 2 mixes.
8/10 from myself, have a listen and see for yourself!
