Tom Holkenborg has been very busy lately: working with Sasha for his album, working on his own album, and remixing one of the legends of music: Elvis Presley. And now, he adds a game soundtrack to that list...
Tom Holkenborg, the man behind Junkie XL, adds something special to his already amazing list of accomplished things.
He recently remixed ‘A Little Less Conversation’ from The King (Elvis Presley) which is being played on all radio stations, and is featured in a Nike commercial. He also worked together with Sasha on his first solo album entitled ‘Airdrawndagger’ which is set for a general release on the 5th of August, and is already causing for a lot of speculations.
September 2002 will be the month where Tom releases his own album. More info to follow…
And now, he is working on a soundtrack for Quantum Redshift. A game for the Xbox. The soundtrack will contain 16 original tracks, all in real time, meaning that the tracks will change depending on the decisions the player makes in the game.
Tom Holkenborg said: "It was a great challenge to score a video game, sort of like a movie. It's a whole new, innovative approach for a game publisher like Microsoft to request a customized score instead of strictly licensing tracks for a game. I played 'Quantum Redshift' and got inspired by it. It's a high energy game which is consistent with my music but at the same time I also wanted to create contrasts to the high energy vibe.".
So for those of you who like games, and like trance, be sure to add this to your wish list.
