For those of you who frequently use the online auction to buy those records of yours and other goods, you maybe pleased to know that Ebay has successful bid for Paypal, the online payment service.
Although not strictly music related, i:Vibes goes towards the financial markets for this interesting piece of news for those who regularly use Ebay and Paypal together to purchase their vinyl and CDs.
The traditional method of paying via Paypal is said to make payment easier and potentially cheaper with the buyout worth USD$1.5bn. The deal was approved this afternoon at just past 3pm GMT.
As a result, the Billpoint system which was also used as an alternative on Ebay is going to be shut down.
Word to consumers is that costs for Paypal will hopefully go down and ebayers alike can aim to benefit from reduced commision pricing and premiums associated with using the service and buyers should expect a better integration of the two.
