Mechanism returns with our favourite Darko, his third single for the label and this one comes with a specially commissioned Blackwatch remix. Blackwatch, aka Michael Thomas from NYC, has a great list of productions under his belt with singles and remixes on just about every credible progressive label there is, Yoshitoshi, Bedrock, Hooj ect. This mix is already featured on some compilations including Hernan Cattaneo for Perfecto and Bill Hamel.
(ORIGINAL & BLACKWATCH HARLEM DUB MIX)
"The A side: " Original Mix" is a deep chugging groover, just what you would expect from Darko when writing for Mechanism. The track rolls along in a kind of Peace Division style, the layers of sound building subtly over that rock solid groove. The track subtly strips down for the breakdown except for that unusual sound that is the core of the track before things kick off again and chug along smoothly. Deep funky grooves Darko style...!!
The AA side: "Blackwatch Spanish Harlem Dub Mix" is best described as a big, phat, percussive groove with all the Blackwatch production trademarks. Deep yet funky this track works itself along beautifully to the breakdown where things fade away to nothing before kicking back in what that solid groove once again. Another sure fire winner from Blackwatch...check it and groove!!!
Lookout for Mechanism 012 coming out straight after summer, a great EP from a new artist- Andro- 'Can't Deny / Magma' is out in October... lookout!
