New act 'Dark Monks' have just signed onto Incentive, with top guy Steve Murano bringing in a fine remix to complement.
The new track, aptly titled Insane, featuring the vocal talents of Mim is the track concocted by the Dark Monks aka Jan Carbon & James Reynolds who have been responsible for one of the best bootlegs to hit the streets over recent months. Starting out as a white label called ‘Let’s Go’ it was a blatant rip of Moby’s seminal 1991 hit. It did however strike a chord with a nation getting more and more obsessed with ‘Back to the Old School’ culture. Pete Tong played it several times on his Radio 1 show and the white labels sold out in days.
Once again the track was embraced by the key players in the dance scene, being spun by Pete Tong, Seb Fontaine & Judge Jules on Radio 1, and was also spun out in Miami during the Winter Music Conference by DJs such as Steve Lawler.
Originally released through the Backyard label its now set for big things having been signed to Incentive and set for a full UK release in August.
Aside from their work in Dark Monks, Jan owns the retail chain Carbon Records and has three stores across the country. James has been involved in various other musical projects including Dirty Trix and Miriam Project.
