For those of you up in Newcastle, you may be aware that Promise have been holding its DJ Competition this month! But did you know about the finals? And although a premature, we thought we'd give you an idea of whats to come in December from one of the most innovative promoters in the UK
The Promise DJ Competition is nearing its midpoint now, after beginning at the start of September with 42 DJs hoping to break into the public arena. Now, after a month, the competition is set to reach its finale in October after a long hard few weeks.
The contest has been structured with 42 DJ’s in the first round, showcasing six contestants every Friday at The Egypt Club between 7-10pm. Two lucky individuals will go through to the quarter finals from the six heats in the first round. This will progress to semi finals and then the grand final, held at Promise Hard October 16th.
The competition is to be judged by promoters Mark Deakin and resident DJs Richard Tulip and Kerry James. Bedroom Bedlam winner and one half of People Get Real, Simon Lister will also stand on the judging panel alongside two Promise clubbers. Judging the DJs on mixing, track selection and the X Factor, this panel of Promise experts will decide on the final winner - giving them an opportunity to stand in the limelight and take a step towards their ultimate dream of DJ superstardom!!
So if you're around on October 16th, be sure to head down to Promise!
