DJ, producer, one of the Nukleuz DJs and one half of The Edison Factor, James Lawson, graces us with a spot on piece of Hard Trance...
The track is one of two that can be found on the Nukleuz Hard Trance EP Vol. 01. With Lawsons several underground hits, upcoming tracks on labels such as Y2K, Honeypot and Vicious Circle and appearances all over the world at several large events, I was quietly confident about this track even before it left its sleeve.
James Lawson - Energise:
As it starts, you're reminded of the sound and feel of old bouncy hard house which is quickly transformed into something more interesting with the addition of a nice 'starter' bassline. The nice hard trance sound follows shortly with a darker, rough synth sound - it instantly catches your interest and you're made to notice a slow build up. This is where things really start to happen - after a teasing breakdown with a new trancier synth, it finally comes in and you're gifted with some true hard trance. I can imagine in a club that this would easily raise a few arms and make some people move - great stuff!
Near to the end, theres a small break and another dose of the main part of the track, before it starts to wind down, leaving you in need of more.
An excellent track - its not a main event, but its definetly way above the standard kind of thing you might find in a random hard trance set.
Watts.
