Ivibes is proud to review the newest EP from Switzerland's No. 1 female DJ and Producer, DJ Tatana. Imagine... 4 Tracks as melodic and uplifting as possible with awesome melodies and great rhythm structures.

Uplifting Trance lovers all around the globe know and love Tatana's Style of Trance, not only because of the overwhelming melodies in her tracks, but also because of the really well-done drum and synth loops.

Tatana Sterba was born on 7.10.1976 in what was then Czechoslovakia. She developed her sensitivity for music already while still at school by playing a number of instruments. Tatana also attended a ballet and jazz dance school.

In May 1994, at the tender age of 17 she was given the opportunity for the first time to impress the audience with her talent at a party in the Groodonia in Rümlang. Smaller gigs in the Zurich area followed and it was in the same year that she was given the opportunity to prove her skills at larger events such as Futurescope, Evolution, Magic Kingdom or Metropolis. At that time there were not many women who dared to present themselves behind the turntables.

In 1997 Tatana produced the first record in her own right in the Frankfurt Polaris-Studio, together with the German star producer Torsten Stenzel (Ayla, Taucher, DJ Sakin & Friends, York), which appeared on Liquid Rec. (Germany). This was simultaneously licensed on over 20 samplers and mix compilations worldwide. One year later many doors opened up for the likeable She-Djane, and on 8.8.98, following a set on the Street Parade, she appeared at Energy 98, the largest Swiss event of this type. Partysan Switzerland even devoted its cover page to her in September 1998.

Her second production "Tatana - The second chapter E.P" followed at the end of August `98 on Liquid Rec. (Germany). It contained the song "Moje Oci" which was again licensed for various compilations. November `98 saw the launch of Tatana's first personal Mix-CD "Tatana - The Mix Vol. 1".

In 1999 Tatana became an essential ingredient of every major event in Switzerland. Together with DJ Energy she produced the single "End Of Time". In April of the same year she was signed up for the compilation to accompany "Goliath", one of the biggest parties in Switzerland. The following summer she was offered the opportunity to produce the official CD for the Street Parade in Zurich and its hymn "More Than Words". At the beginning of the new millennium her Mix-CD "24 Karat" appeared which also contains her own productions. With this CD which was declared to be an album, she reached position 9 in the official Swiss charts. Together with the band M.O.P.E. DJ Tatana developed a new live act for the Trance scene with which she succeeded in delighting the audience at the Heitere Open Air in Zofingen and the Energy 00 in the Hallenstadium. In November the next Mix-CD "Pure Elements" stormed the Swiss market. Today Tatana can be found every weekend in clubs or at parties throughout Switzerland and Europe and is considered to be one of the most frequently booked DJs in the country.

After her former Releases "End of Time", "Words", or "Feel" (together with DJ Energy), as well as numerous remixes, the newest Vinyl of Tatana, produced by Andy Prinz finally reached nearly all the online- Vinylshops in the net.

TATANA - SUPERPOP EP

Track 1: Global thinking
The first Track on this EP begins with an epic, simple but catchy rhythm and a synth loop that gives you the impression, that what you will hear in the next minutes, is pure Quality Trance music. And your impression will become reality as soon as you listen to one of the nicest melodies, with light female vocals in the background. After the first "introduction" of the main melody in the first half of the song, the melody is now played by pizzicato strings which are leading to a gorgeous climax with powerful Strings and percussions.
A really well-done powerful Trance tune. You won't be able to seat silent while listening...

Track 2: Peace of mind
This track starts with a simple rhythm as well, but after a few seconds it develops into one which makes you dance at once, wherever you listen to the track. Even in the record shop... :-)
After 3 1/2 minutes the main melody awaits your ears. We really felt like flying while listening. Such a nice melody and Rhythm buildup. This production is for those who like Goosebumps while dancing. Congrats, Tatana, this really is the stuff dream Tracks are made of.

Track 3: Sensuality
Starts right away with a steady beat, kind of laser Zaps and wooden sounds. A totally another beat that you might except from Tatana. Sounds pretty progressive at the beginning. But as soon as you are listening to the strings, your heart knows that you have always loved Tatana's music and you would never be disappointed by any of her Tracks or remixes. Very powerful Strings are leading more and more to the big buildup.
The main melody is not as uplifting as the first two tracks, but still top Quality. You will like this track when you like floating away into Trance while listening and dancing.

Track 4: Yeaming
An epic Rhythm and Harder beat followed by a wonderful melody within the first minute. You feel that this track is the one you have been waiting for. Save the best for last! We cannot stop listening to the following melodic and endless buildup which leads into the main theme of the song. Many Layers, many transforms which cover the complete tune.
You cannot stop dancing and listening to.
