Ben Camp is at it again! His first EP Timewreck was a massive hit with big DJ’s, and things look very good for this release. Anthony Pappa is just one big name DJ who is giving this a lot of plays! Inversus at its best! Tune of the week!!!
Burning starts off very soft, just setting a mood for things to come. Its really atmospheric, and will just start to play with your mind. When the beat kicks in, a lot of different layers come swirling around the corner, and make for one progressive song to die for! Shortly after that, the top of the iceberg is revealed, with an enchanting melody layered over the bass, and atmospheric ´wavey` sounds. A little breakbeat kicks in, and adds another perspective to the song. But the dark atmosphere stays present throughout the rest of the song, and it isn’t misplaced! Ending off with a nice volume change to give it that little edge.
GREAT song!
Movian Force cuts directly to the chase: a nice driving beat, some drums, and of course added effects. A totally different feel to it, its more in your face then Burning, which is good, cause it gives this release the diversity needed! Steadily building and building till it reaches its final destination. In the breakdown, there´s a voice saying ´What kind of business are you in?` ´We predict the future`. This song is very futuristic, tribal, dark, deep, to sum it up magnificent! A dream for a proghead like me :)
Conclusion: I was expecting an ok song from this release, but Ben Camp did it again, Burning is an AMAZING song. And on the flip-side there’s a totally different song, but it is quality! These two song will be in my top ten of 2002, no doubt about that!
