Summer 2001 superhit and two remixes
Kai Tracid - Too Many Times (Yoda & Energy mixes) This track was a real one superhit during the whole summer and I decided to make a review. First CD with "Times" was the Maxi single in germany. It includes seven remixes by Warmduscher, Yoda, Tobi Neumann and others. Wht it was considered to be a superhit is still a mystery for me. I have seen the original video on Viva TV, it is possible to see and listen. But on the dancefloor it does not sound almost at all. Originally produced track has piano and synthesisers included, the tune itself is made very fine (it made me remember the summer 2000 i have spent in Germany, it seems that nothing has changed). Now "Too Many Times" appeared on two fresh compilations: Dream Dance 21 and Tunnel Trance Force 18 (DD with Yoda short mix and TTF with Energy mix) . I just thought something will change now. But no - Kai opens (!) the first DD CD, but it is 100 % not the right choice to start - piano almost removed, it means no real melody, the lyrics is cut to one phrase "Too many times these pills you take". It makes you serious and you sart thinking about "Put your life to the test", but the music is first! Energy mix is even more strange, just because there is no energy. I first listened to it in my Technics RP-F300 - no will to move at all, the second time @ the club speakers during the sound check. this rework is sort and is not "depicting" anything. I still don't know a good dancefloor remix made on this track. I am probably mistaken, if so - drop me a msg.
