 Mike James is relatively unknown to most. The Belgian born Dj is gradually climbing up the ladder, to continue thw work of people like Marko @ LA Rocca. Mike has set out to bring several sets broadcast live on Laser Hot Hits - to further enhance his reputation - and to give out a blend of the finest, most cutting edge music available.
Biography:
Mike started out as a DJ at the tender age of 16 with decks loaned from a friend! After 3 months as a bedroom dj he gained a residency at a local club called Fauna- which as irony has it: he couldn’t even legally enter as a visitor! He played out one year before deciding to drop the residency and travel-due the the numerous booking offers he was getting in and around Belgium. He felt this was the next challenge- varying his music scope to satisfy each individual crowd, pressing the true progressive sound in all its varying forms.
Since then he has played for some of the famous Belgian clubs such as Cherry Moon, Industria, Dixies, Le Dome, Xplosion, Club at (now called The Living Room),... and several big parties not only in Belgium, but in neighbouring Holland, France and Austria. The Sportpaleis in Antwerp - Belgium, which was attended by 20.000 people has been the highlight of his career. Mike delighted the crowds with his signature sound, genius
technical ability and programming-which consequently sent shockwaves through Belgium. In that period Mike also released 2 records, one being a massive underground white label stomper and the other one being compiled on 7 compilations in Italy, Holland and Belgium. A three year old record which was still played at the Love Parade 2002!
The past year Mike has been playing as a resident in club Xtrah, but since he could only play progressive oriented music in the early hours, he quit to discover new horizons. Bookings will be his main goal once again, as he is seeking to take off in the place where he left off-at the head of some of the most notorious nights in Belgian clubbing! He has just accepted an offer to head the residency of the monthly progressive
parties at Industria. As a self-employed graphic designer he also found back the spare time from his college years to get back into his studio and produce some deep and dark tunes, which will see the light of day very soon. Global recognition is Mike’s ultimate prospect-with his evident potential and youthful enthusiasm standing him in good stead for this achievement to be gained!
