The classic Technics 1200 series puts out its 5th edition to commemorate 30 years in the industry as the top selling and most reliable turntable.
Arguably the most reliable and stable of all turntables is the classy Technics 1200/1210 MK2 as used as the industry standard. Here, Panasonic present the MK5 release for your turntable needs out there.
The new version is out in Asia only at the moment with an official release date of November 1st of this year but has been appearing around the place since the summer period; and at the moment there are only limited products exported overseas.
This follows on from the MK4 version which was released in 1997; also Japan only and comes in the usual black finish or the silver finish, denoted under the MK5G and the MK5 titles, with 1000 and 3000 produced monthly, respectively. With over 2,800,000 Technics turntables been sold since its induction in 2002, the brand has become the standard for clubs, and DJs alike and is often seen as a sound investment, with the latest version boasting even better sound quality for the audiophiles amongst us and more stable features to last more than a lifetime.
The main difference between the MK5G and the MK5 is the the MK5G series contains additional lighting effects for the pitch adjust and the +/- 16% pitch range which can be adjusted by pressing a button.
