This latest production from Push gets a bit of help from Japanese producer Tetsuya Komuro aka Globe. Result: a quality production worthy of Tune of the week.
A: Tranceformation B: Universal Nation 2002
A: Tranceformation. Starting off with the typical Push sound, this is promising from the start. But it all gets blown away when the melody kicks in. Simple, yet effective. Subtle, yet obvious. A perfect contradiction in the melody. And that’s how we like it. Same goes for the breakdown, it oozes quality. All in all, this is one masterpiece, and it’s perfect for an uplifting set. What else can you expect from Mike?
B: Universal Nation 2002. When I first found out that Push was going to re-release Universal Nation, I was sceptic, since the original is still amazing and a lof of people think of that song as their favorite song. Who doesn’t remember hearing this song, and just going crazy to it?
This has gotten a serious facelift. It’s no more anthem-like, but it’s pure trance now. It’s less in your face, which is kind off a sad thing, if you keep in mind how good the original was. Universal Nation has been toned down, and a few extra melodies were given to it. BLEH. I still prefer the original, nothing you can do will change how I feel about the original one.
This release by Push is like all his previous ones: quality. Tranceformation is a GREAT song, but Universal Nation 2002 could have been better or should have stayed untouched in my opinion.
