One of the funkiest tunes around at the moment, This one has been doing the rounds for a while now, with lots of play from DJs like Tiesto & Judge Jules, making it a favourite amongst many, Finally reviewed for i:Vibes!!
On the A side, we have the 'Klub Mix' with the shorter 'Muc' Mix on the flip.
Klub Mix The original starts off with a very typical Tomcraft Style, beats & percussion built up in a really nice way, and the Funkier melody comes in at just before 1 minute long. As this is a slower, funkier style, a lot of people will be used to hearing it pitched up immensely, towards 140bpm & Higher, though it is about 10bpms slower on normal speed. Vocals of 'Happiness & Loneliness' Come in a bit later, and a cool bassline accompanies it, and the vocals when I first heard them sounded almost like Michael Jackson ones, Still not sure if male or female, due to the tone of the voice!!
As it gets further on, I hear a sound very similar to that used in the storming 'Lost Vagueness' That was hammered in 2001. We move onto a break section, which is very simplistic, but effective at the same time. The tone lowers and the vocal re-emerges, for one last time in a prolonged fashion, until the break ends, and the main beat is back, ready to be mixed out. I Find this a good tune personally for the beginning of a set when I start off a bit slower, although obviously everyone else will have a preference.
Highly Recommended, and dancefloor approved, 9/10
Muc Mix On the B side, we have a shorter effort, which really cuts to the chase, no build up as such, straight onto the funkier sound, and before 20 seconds, you have the Happiness & Loneliness vocal, although after the breakdown, this has much more of a breakbeat sound to it, quite simple, but not too bad in my opinion, and very much more vocal throughout. Not really a lot else different in this mix, although it does have a piano melody at times, but Personally I think the Klub mix is slightly better, and as yet have not heard this version in a set, 7/10
