This is the latest offering from a techno/hard trance producer... Its original, pumping and ultimately powerfull! For the full review read on...
Derb - Underground (A1 Mix) Derb - Underground (B1 Mix) Derb - Underground (B2 Mix)
A1 Mix: This track is very interesting with an intro of over 2 minutes it can be a great starter to a set. It used familiar samples during the intro with some cool headed commentary to accompany it. Near the end of the intro the theme vocals for the track kick in and they go as follows: Down Down Underground Down Down Underground Down Down Underground. Then when the full theme vocals come in we get Down Down Underground OOwayo. This track is extremly hard!! And I would almost class it as techno, in fact it probably is techno. When the synth kicks in its not one of these big fancy up and down melodies its just plain and simple what the producer wanted to achieve and that was to drive the audience with a powerfull yet simple synthline!!. Definitly worth hearing and playing if you are into that harder edge!
B1 Mix: The intro is not like the first one, it lasts for over 1 minute and introduced a female vocals asking kindly everyone to extinguish their cigarette. Its pretty cool intro. The beat is kicking alone for the first section after the intro anxiously awaiting the bassline and advanced percussions. Whats cool about this track is that the bassline just doesent come in, in fact the track comes to a complete halt before it does. When the bassline kicks in you definitly do not expect to hear what you hear. It reminds me of gay penguins prancing up and down a beach playing vollyball, BUT with a hard edge. Hard to believe eh!? Well in this track there are no breakdowns which makes it a nice change because it doesnt get boring because it has so many variations in the flow of the track that you just can get bored and have to dance up and down the dancefloor till you drop :@)
B2 Mix: This is just basically a 1 minute long track which has some of the vocals from the first track! I dont know why this was included, perhaps for DJS to sample during their sets, but why would you do that?? You already have these vocals in the first mix and if you were a dj you would know that you could use them and did not need an entirely different track to use for sampling over you mixes.
Anyway, summing up all of this its a great track and will definitly make a lot of people dance! its hard its bouncy and got some cool intros for your DJ sets :@)
7/10
