My mind’s made up tonight, i'm gonna get it right and let it shine. Tonight is mine! These are the words, which circle around in your brain while you dance furiously to this surreal piece of music and these are also the words which will circle around in your brain when you listen to some great remixes by Rank1 and Dave Joy! Read on to find out more and to read about the great remixes included with this power drivin' track! Just wait until you feel a sample of this melody…
JamX & De Leon – Mind Made Up (Radio Mix) JamX & De Leon – Mind Made Up (Original Mix) JamX & De Leon – Mind Made Up (Rank 1 Mix) JamX & De Leon – Mind Made Up (Dave Joy Mix)
JamX & De Leon – Mind Made Up (Radio Mix) To be honest, calling this a radio mix makes it sound like it’s going to be a commercial sounding track, however, this is by far definitly not the case. Starting off in the beginning of this track with the start of the breakdown similar in the Original mix we are instantly introduced to the vocals, which by now you have already read and probably listened. After this the melody takes your heart and lifts it from your body until you know the night is yours and that your mind is shining. So basically this is a cut down version of the original which sounds almost identical with the same synths same vocals re-arranged and shorter… Fine for radio play or commercial clubs.
JamX & De Leon – Mind Made Up (Original Mix) The original mix, which I can foresee being one of the most commonly played, mixes by DJ’s. This mix is basically a longer version of the radio mix. There is only one difference and that is that the melody seems to have an extra synth mixed along which adds a little more power most likely intended for club’s. That’s really all I can comment on with those. One other distinct difference is that the build-up is longer and for obvious reasons is a little more exciting!
JamX & De Leon – Mind Made Up (Rank 1 Mix) Aah, Rank 1… How can we go wrong here? Well ill admit ive heard better stuff from Rank 1 but I must say this mix is right up there with the good ones. This mix is the most uplifting of them all. By uplifting I mean it’s got that style to it that veers it more towards the uplifting genre. This mix was well chosen and fits in well with the other mixes. The vocals are retained and I have to comment on when they come in first in this mix and the way it all just kicks back into action with a sub synth sounds and nice percussions after the vocal is said once. This continues on for a little while of around a minute. Now the breakdown comes into play and by now you definitely can hear the Rank 1 sound arriving. The synths are all uplifting and during the breakdown it all goes rather quiet, with a baby kick pushing your heart as you wait for it to kick in. The timing of this is perfect! And I think that Rank 1 have done a swell job with this mix. I’m going to be looking forward to future remixes from Rank 1 and hopefully some new productions/Releases! Great stuff!
JamX & De Leon – Mind Made Up (Dave Joy Mix) Now this mix is slightly harder than the rest, and as I said before the Rank1 mix fitted in well as you can now see that there has been a balance performed. Commercial, Uplifting & Hard all banged into one single. As a fan of the harder style of music I do quite like this mix. But before I go any further I am going to comment that all the mixes of this track are of very high quality and I was disappointed with none of them. The intro for this mix lasts about 1:30 and then a nice harder sounding bassline and kicks are introduced. Now the breakdown begins at approximately 3:20 with some nice sounds coming on board, as we get ready to go into dance mode on the floor. In fact this mix is a little similar to the cosmic gate style, which is never a bad thing. This mix is definitly worth playing at any venue as its packed with a nice sort of energy and nice structure or even if you have gotten tired playing the other mixes all of the time this can make a refreshing change.
Summing up, I really think this is a great track from an already reputable artist, complimented with some great remixes from already reputable artists also. Basically you cannot go wrong if you like Hard, commercial (ish) or uplifting genres. I have bought this you should too!
Thanks for reading this review, and I hope you continue to visit I: Vibes!
