First Annual Raw42 Underground Music Awards 2001 (The RUMAs)

Finally the underground music industry will get it's very own award-show! Read the press release from Raw42 here.

Raw42 Music Ltd., a UK based publishing and licensing company, is pleased to announce the first annual Raw42 Underground Music Awards (The RUMAs) for the electronic music community. Focusing on all genres and styles of electronic music (techno, trance, etc.), artists who have music accepted in Raw42 Music’s VIP Lounge as of December 10th, 2001 are eligible for the Awards.

Explains Raw42 Music’s CEO, Ian Sims, “We hope to bring a new legitimacy to an already vibrant underground scene with the RUMAs and provide artists with the chance to get recognition for their art.” Raw42 A&R Staff will select winners for all categories except the People’s Choice Award, which is voted on by music lovers online (raw42.com). Winners will be announced at Raw42’s website on January 4, 2002.

Prize: $500 advance for a "launch-pad" record contract thru 42Records for a CD release with promotion

Award: Best Potential Hit Song
Prize: Inclusion on Raw42 Compilation CD + promo CD to labels

Award: Most Innovative Song
Prize: Small Run promo CD to labels

Award: Best Song In Synch
Prize: Special promotion to TV and Film companies affiliated with Raw42 + $200

Award: Peoples Choice (Highest Vote achieved)
