I was sent by the guys here to large it up at passion with JFK Marc West & Guests for the night, Judge Jules & Cor Fijneman! Find out about my great night in the midlands here!!
Line up JFK = 9 – 10:30 Marc West = 10:30 – 11 Judge Jules = 11 – 1 Cor Fijneman = 1- 2:30 Marc West = 2:30 – 3:15
As soon as we got in we were greeted by JFK playing Paul van Dyk feat Hemstock and Jennings – Nothing but you, and it really set the standard for the evening, following on with Three Drives – Air Traffic, which really got the crowd going.
Marc West was next, and after hearing great things about him, I wasn’t disappointed!. In half an hour he managed to play some of the best tunes around at the moment, really building it the night up. Sonorous – Protonic (Ronski speed mix) and Solid Globe – North Pole are always popular, and this was no exception. The club was beginning to fill, and looking around, it was easy to see why the club is held in such high regard.
Judge Jules came on next, and the atmosphere was buzzing, something that I’ve found to be ever present in my visits to the emporium, the atmosphere inside is amazing! Jules played the now trademark Plummet – Damaged, which always receives a warm reception (surely be getting worse in the coming weeks with it’s impending release into the UK charts), but moved away from the uplifting sound Marc West had started with, playing very little tunes I recognised. M1 – Heaven Sent and a new Tomcraft tune, were the only ones of note, but the variation was interesting, and finishing off on drugface – c*ntmaster (Uberdruck mix) was an excellent way to end his set!
Cor Fijneman came on next, and after hearing varied reports, I was quickly put into place! The Tiesto mix of Conjure one – Tears from the moon was very well received, and the set was gathering pace quickly. Cor dropped the classic Members of Mayday – 10 in 01, which was very well received. Cor’s collaboration with Jan Johnston is currently very big in the club charts, and it’s always special when a producer plays their own tracks, and this was no exception. Surprise of the night was DJ Tiesto’s mix of Madonna – Die another Day, something which I wasn’t expecting, and was very glad to hear!
Marc West finished the night off in style, with new tracks from Smith and Pledger, Nick Riley and Andi Durrant amongst others. Ocean Lab – Beautiful Together (Signum mix) as the encore tune went down really well, and was a great end to the night.
Bring on PaSSion Live! Big thanks to Toddy and Marc West Mark
